This weekend I got to work on a Valentines outfit for S.R. to wear...unfortunately, she will be wearing it at home:o( She had a really bad weekend, and after two doctor's visits, it was confirmed that baby girl has strep throat:o( This is a first in our household. Thankfully E is already on antibiotics for a double ear infection, so his chances of getting it are slim-to-none...the hubs and I?? Only time will tell:o/ Anyway, while perusing Pinterest the other day, I came across two different tutorials for little girl's skirts. You can find them  HERE  &  HERE .                                          I kind of used little tidbits from both, and came up with this.  I wanted the shirt to have the skirt fabric tied in, so I cut out little hearts in the shirt itself, and added the strawberry fabric in behind...just "heat-bonded" it and stitched. Miracles do happen. They do, rarely in real life, but a little more often in sport. One such miracle has happened in the city of New York. Or should I say, to the city of New York. All of New York has been infected with "Linsanity". One of the, if not THE most famous entertainment and sporting arenas in the world is MSG - Madison Square Gardens in the heart of Manhattan. The home of the New York Knicks - one of the most famous basketball teams in the world. Professional basketball - the NBA - is an extremely competitive  sport in the US. It is filled with superstars - like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwight Howard who earn zillions every year and have supersize egos. Thousands and thousands aspire to join the NBA each year - barely 50 or 60 make it. The New York Knicks are a famous but perennially disappointing team. They have achieved precious little in recent years. A year ago they paid huge sums of money to acquire two superstars - Amare Stoudamire and Carmelo Anthony. Not...

Well I found out what was wrong with my neck...severe muscle spasms...I have no idea why it happened, but I am ever so thankful for modern medicine! So now that I am almost back to normal, I was able to get a few crafty things done today. The kids and I assembled their Valentines Day cards. A few weeks ago I found  THIS idea out in blog-land and pinned it. A few days later, Snapfish ran a deal on prints..99 prints for 99cents total. That's when I knew exactly what the kids' V-day cards would be:o) I did a little finagling & added the "Be Mine" on Picnik.. so bummed that they are shutting that site down:o(  And this is how E's turned out The "Be Mine" on S.R.'s somehow was cut off during printing, so I just completely cut the words off..but hers still looks cute:o)  Pretty fantastic & super cheap & easy. I am also slowly preparing for S.R.'s 4th birthday party(which is in 3 1/2 weeks..ahhh!). We are doing the Wizard of Oz as the theme....

My menu board is the most "pinned" item on my blog. I have had several people ask questions about dimensions, paint colors, wood type, and even if I would make another one to sell. I have gotten comments and emails of which I never responded to, and I am SORRY! I am such a loser when it comes to following up. Sad, I know. So anyway, I decided to do a quick post for all of you out there who were wanting to know how this thing was constructed. The dimensions of:  This menu board: 40"x40" The chalkboard squares: 12"x12" The large vinyl letters: 3" The small vinyl letters: 2"  Here is a shot of the back of the board. You can see that the frame is made from  1x2's and it's a 1/4" thick plywood board. And that's it...  I think I covered all of the questions that have been asked as of lately.
